SYS ja sukat - Secret friend and socks

Huh huh, urakka tuli tehdyksi, eli nuo villasukat. ;o). Drinksu tulee Everyday Gourmetista. Hameena toimii virkattu kolmiohuivi.

I finally finished the blasted socks. I also started a new chair, it looks like a spider now and it's going to be red. It's lovely to relax in the old chair with a martini and warm socks. The fabulous drink is from Everyday Gourmet. The crocheted shawl can be used as a skirt too it seems.

Ystäväkuukausi ponkaisi käyntiin ja sain aivan mielettömän aarteen salaiselta ystävältäni, kiitos! Mahtavaa lisäinnostusta virkkaamiseen. Minä osallistuin vaihtoon tänä vuonna kaksinkertaisesti, eli lähetän pieniä yllätyksiä kahdelle ihmiselle ja saan puolestani postia kahdelta salaiselta ystävältä. Jännittävää!

The secret friend swap takes the whole month of February. I received a treasure from my secret friend for crocheting. The threads are just wonderful and the hook too, interesting to try it with a wooden handle. Thank you so much!!!!

The socks turned out very good! Is it very difficult to do?

What a nice swap you received, enjoy!

Love those socks! I quilt and have smocked and done 'heirloom sewing' with laces and embroidery but I never learned to knit or crochet. I can't imagine doing something that tiny! I can't wait to see the chair.

Hi Evelien!

I would not call it very difficult, but it is very slow and a bit nerve-wrecking with all the pins sticking out in every direction and the knitting itself a bit small in there in the middle.

I used five pins like when you knit real-size socks and a rather thin wool-silk-yarn, which was nice to knit with. I used 1,5 mm pins, that are actually quite big for miniature work, but it's smallest I've got 5 pieces at the moment. I had 14 stitches in these. With smaller pins I suppose you could have more stitches and make some patterns too and still have the sock right size.

Do give it a try, especially if you knit real-size too. After a couple of tries it gets easier I believe.

Hienot sukat Hanna! Tuo aikaisemman postauksen neulemekko oli myös aivan valloittava.

Ihanat sukat. Minulle ei ole vielä valjennut miten ihmeessä tuommoisia pystyy neulomaan.

Thank you for explaining! I've knitted before, but never socks. If I try, I'll let you know!
