Koripajaa kansallismuseossa - Basket workshop at national museum

Opetin tämmöisten korien tekoa tänään kansallismuseon nukkekotitapahtumassa ja voi että oli hauskaa! Siellä oli myös myyntipöytiä ja löysin ihanuuksia. Niistä myöhemmin. Itse näyttely oli aivan huippu!!!!

I taught how to make baskets like these at national museum today and it was so much fun! There were people selling their work too and how wonderful things everybody had made. I'll show my catch a bit later. The exhibition is magnificent, so much to see. I love the antique houses and dolls and stuff. There's so much character and the scales are not that precise and they have that lived in feeling that comes with time. Such a pleasure to watch.

Päivä ei ollut ihan kaikkein kukkein mahdollisin. Ei paljoa haitannut. Helsingissä sentään sai kävellä ihan normaalisti. Kotona Hämeenlinnassa köpötellään jäätä pitkin.

It was not the most beautiful day, I must admit... This is the museum building. There's a great bear statue up the stairs that I've loved since a kid. Well, at least in Helsinki one could walk normally. At home in Hämeenlinna we're slipping and sliding on ice.

Tukholmasta - From Stockholm

Pähkäilen hiljalleen astiajakoa talojen välillä. Tämmöinen serviisi on tulossa Miinulle ja Fauniukselle.
But first checking how these would look in the Faunius house.



Eka tuliainen löytyi jo nukkekotiyhdistyksen vuosikokousreissulta Sinebrychoffin museoon. Tutustuimme ennen kokousta miniatyyrimaalauksiin ja kiehtovaa oli. Museokaupasta nappasin lasin alle tinatun esikon. Kääntöpuolelta löytyi tulppaaneja. Tämä oli rintarossi, mutta ei ole enää.

This I found at a museum store in Helsinki, used to be a brooch. The finnish dollshouse association had a meeting and we could also check out the miniature painting collection at Sinebrychoff museum. The paintings were just wonderful.


Laivalla matkalla Miniatyrmässaniin pidin huovutuspajan. Tällä kertaa aiheena oli sovitusnukke, vähän tähän tapaan.

On the boat to Stockholm miniature fair there were workshops. Mine was about felting of course and this time we made a mannequin.


Markkinoilla oli hurjan paljon nähtävää ja ihasteltavaa. Mukaankin tarttui yhtä ja toista. Tässä tosi huonoja kuvia ostoksistani. Ensin Britt-Mari Åbladin uskomattoman ohuet, aivan oikeat räsymatot ja talonpoikaisesineet.

Minstin Cillan pöytään kiirehdin ihan ensimmäiseksi ja voi hyvänen aika! Erityisen iloinen olen tuosta viuhkasta, jossa on oikeita höyheniä. Niiden päissä on jumalattoman kaunis vihreä kiilto. Peilit ovat sellainen tunneostos, eli täysin järkeä vailla hankitut, mutta niille on jo useampikin sijoituspaikkavaihtoehto kilpailemassa. Ihania. Virkattujen tyynyn ja peiton tekijän nimeä en löydä, mutta hillittömän upeita töitä hänellä oli pöytä väärällään, virkkausta, frivoliteeta ja sen sellaista. Onhan tuossa kuvassa vielä toisen pajan, lintuhäkin, vielä pintakäsittelemättömiä töitä. Kiharapäisen kaunottaren punoi Tiina ja antoi minulle. Taidan olla onnen tyttö.

Cilla from Minst.com makes the most beautiful things. I went straight to her table and was not disappointed at all. Could have spent hours there just watching and admiring ;o). The fan has the tiniest real feathers with shiny emerald tips. The mirrors I did not know I needed, but now I have several places I wish to put them to. The maker of the crocheted pillow and throw I do not know, but her work is wonderful. You can also see birdcages from the other workshop I held. The curly-top beauty is made by Tiina. She gave it to lucky me. I have not yet decided whether to paint or stain or what my cages.

Puuhka ja saalis - Stole and my catch

Tämmöisiä puuhkia kurssilla sitten tehtiin, laitan ohjeen nukkekotiyhdistyksen lehden ohjevarastoon, josta se sitten vuorollaan ehkä ensi vuonna tai sitä seuraavana ilmaantuu lehden sivuille. Miinu ei kyllä kovasti tykkää siitä, mutta ehkä se on Miinun äidin vanha ja sellainen, joka tulee vaan säilytettyä, vaikka käyttöä ei niin olekaan.

Well here's the stole I taught to make at Leipämäki. I made a tutorial for Doll's house association's magazine as well. It will be published probably next year or year after that. Miinu is not that pleased with it, but maybe it's from her mother and she likes to keep it even though she hardly ever wears the poor thing.


Tässä on minun saaliini Leipämäen yhteiskirppikseltä tai siis tässä on näitä esineitä. Pöydällä on Larissan upea malliorkidea massailuun ja kauniita maalattuja posliinivaaseja. Materiaalipuolelta mukaan tarttui nahkaa ja pitsiä ja kankaita ja listaa ja ihana puulaatikko boksin pohjaksi ja tapettia ja lahjahöyheniä.... Hanna on kovasti kauhea harakka... mutta kun niistä voi tehdä niin paljon kaikenlaista... varsinkin jos ei niin paljon netissä luuhaisi...

Here's my catch at the sale at the course. On the table there are Larissa's gorgeus orchid, which was a model for us for making clay-flowers and her beautiful painted porcelain-vases. I also took home lots of materials, leather, fabric, lace, wooden box to make a room, feathers, wall-paper and such... I'm a horrible horrible greedy little magpie... but there is so much one can do with these.... especially if one would not spend so much time hanging out in here...

Kurssilla - On a course

Voi miten ihana alkuviikonloppu minulla olikaan!!! Olin kaukana Leipämäessä nukkekotikurssilla ensin perjantaina opettamassa huovutetun kettupuuhkan valmistusta ja iiiihhhhanalla kirpparilla, josta tuloksena kotiin tullessa oli tavaraa kolminkertainen määrä siihen verrattuna, mitä mennessä oli... ja lauantaina tekemässä upeassa ohjauksessa massajuttuja ja laukkuja. Opettajina olivat Larissa ja Eija ja kaikkiaan meitä oli parikymmentä onnekasta ihanassa paikassa hyvässä seurassa ja voi miten hienoja juttuja tuli kullekin kotiin viemisiksi! Suurkiitokset kaikille mukana olleille ja erityisesti ihanalle emännälle, jota ilman Suomen nukkekotimaailma olisi paljon tylsempi paikka.

I had the most wonderful couple of days at Leipämäki! I taught making fox-muffs (don't know about the word... these things to wrap around one's neck made of dead foxes, really gory in real life, but lovely in miniature in a way). There was an amazing sale, people brought stuff they don't need and I found soooo many things, materials and other. On saturday I made things from polymer-clay taught by Larissa and bags taught by Eija. There were about 20 of us all together and it was such fun. Everybody made amazing things to take home. I want to thank everybody and especially our hostess who makes the miniature world in Finland soooo much more special.
