It's wonderful to meet friends and see the lovely things everybody has made. I did sell quite nicely and since it was really quiet at the end of the show, I did make some purchases. Not too much, sometimes I've used practically everything I've made and some more... with great pleasure I must add ;o). I'll add who made what later on, I'm way too tired now, sorry.

We had a little time to make things together with Aava this evening. She is coming along tomorrow and wanted to make something she can sell too. I'm not sure if it is going to happen, I just might keep these to myself.. I made gloomy girls.

Tampereelle

Virkattu torkkupeitto on juuri Etsystä, Willow's Creationsin Friedalta. Se ei kylläkään ole myynnissä ;o).

Tomorrow begins Tampere handcraft fair that has a whole section for dolls, bears and miniatures. I have very little to show this time, but some felted things, old miniature magazines and things I've collected but noticed that I actually do not need. I also thought of telling about Etsy and Team Mids there. My shop will be closed for a couple of days for the fair, but open again next week. The crocheted afghan (not for sale) on the coutch is from Etsy, Willow's Creations. Frieda makes the most amazing afghans and does commissions too.

Uskomatonta!

Huom. Kyseessä on siis nukkekotiin sopiva maalaus.

I received another thing from my secret friend yesterday and I'm telling you this artwork gave me goosebumbs. The words are not enough here. This portrait makes me feel good about myself. It's gorgeous. I look happy and strong and beautiful and still exactly like me. I love the dress, I love the lion, I love the composition and my posture and the background. Friends like these are made in some heaven and put to earth to travel among us mere mortals. Unbelievable! I cannot believe the skills it takes to paint like this and the generosity to give a gift like this.

Oh, and yes, this is 1/12 scale painting.

Hassu hatuntekijä - Mad hatter

Lavastin neitejä erikoisiin teekesteihin Tim Burtonin Liisa Ihmemaassa -leffan kunniaksi. Kohta se tulee. Tarjoilut on vaan vähän jääneet lapsipuolen asemaan näillä kekkereillä. Muffinssit on kuorruttamatta (vuoat Snowfernin Cindyltä) ja mistä tuo pupu tuli teekuppiin? Vaaleanpunainen harsohattu on Päivin tekemä, muut hatut minun askaroimiani.

I set the ladies for a weird teaparty to celebrate Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland that soon has it's premiere. This party has the hats, but not much to enjoy otherwise. No frosting on the cupcakes (casings by Snowfern) yet and why is there a bunny-toy in the tea-cup? The pink hat with the veil is by a club-buddy Päivi, other hats I've made.

Sain aurinkoisen blogipalkinnon täältä. Oiseau de Nim tekee mielettömiä herkkuja. Teeseurueen olisi ehkä hyvä siirtyä hänen luokseen juhlimaan...

I received a sunny blog-award from here. Oiseau de Nim makes the most wonderful treats. Maybe the tea-party should move to her place to have a yummier party...

Uusi tukka - New hair

This doll received a new wig and the falsies Taru taught how to make from peacock feathers. The hairclip is cut and bended from a beadcap and a length of wire, it is removable, of course. A girl has to be able to change her hair... I don't seem to be able to do anything sensible. It is like this sometimes.

Sys jatkuu

Salaista postia tuli taas! Upea päiväpeite ja herkkua koko perheen tarpeisiin ;o). Kiitos!!!!

I received a beautiful bedspread from my secret friend and goodies for the whole family. Thank you!

Kokosin myös teehuoneeseen tulevaa tavaraa omaan laatikkoonsa, jotta kaaos pöydällä ja hyllyllä tulisi vähän hallittavammaksi. Koreaa ja kukertavaa piisaa...

I also collected things for the tea-house and put it in a box for now to clear some of the chaos on my desk and shelf. I'm going to miss seeing the teapots all the time...

I'll show you two wonderful things I've found and purchased. The branch with the birds is hand-carved and -painted!!! I cannot understand the skills required to make this. The gentleman from Dugarbrook makes many kinds of birds and fish in 1/12th scale and also a bit bigger and the whole size things too, I believe. These tits live at Faunius.

Minun lattialtani!)... Alemmassa kuvassa kaunokainen vähän lähempää.

I found Mr Rex from Kelly Farrell. This is a laser-cut sheet ready to be put together. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow and with help of tweezers any patient person can make a perfect little tinysaur (I love the name). The not so patient persons like me will drop a set of ribs (found it miraculously) and get one of the vertebrae all wrong (glued it tightly, but I don't mind, my Rex has some personality, you see...) and curse a bit while making the small beauty. I think it is wonderful anyway.

Pikkuinen - Little one

Tein pikkuisen nallen.

I made a tiny teddy. It turned out to be a dog and teddy mix with his long nose and crumply ears. The photo does not show how cute he is, but it's the only one I managed to take that was more or less focused and not blurry. My bear is nothing like the perfect and tidy ones Mariella makes, but I love this just the same. It looks a bit used and loved. I think I've been trying to prove something to myself with the knitting and crocheting lately, but now I feel that I've really learned something. Now I need to get back to the world of felting. There's a fair in Tampere, Finland after two weeks or so.

Aikamoinen urakka!

Olen ihastellut Megipupun (kauppa) kutomia nukenvaatteita jo kauan. Kaunis olkalaukku on Eijalta.

I've been admiring doll clothes by Megipupu (her Etsy-shop) for a long time now. Her stripey, knitted clothes for a bit bigger dolls are delicious and her colour-combinations too. I'm learning to knit in miniature now, so I had to try to make a gardigan inspired by Megipupu. It was quite a job! I knitted with mattress needles I sanded to make the ends blunt. These were about 1 mm. There's still a long way to go to get to the really small and right looking "handwriting" in knitting, but I'm really proud of this. The lovely bag is made by Eija.

Myssymaakari

I'm stuck at crocheting hats and it is fun.

Sys - Secret friend swap

Kiitos ihanasta lahjasta!

This seems to be "Drown Hanna with gifts" month. I received yet another gift, this time for Faunius. He is so pleased and very thankful that my friends take care of him. He is teaching Miinu how to play. She really needs to concentrate, not being a games person at all.. Thank you so very much, my secret friend!

Hui hai, muka huumorintajuton.

I'm practising making a beard and eye-glasses. I have not found an idea for these dolls before, but now I like them. I painted the eyes a bit darker to see them properly behind glasses and it was fun. It would be fun to make a doll with really heavy make-up, like blue glitter eyeshadow and false lashes. The glasses are bent from thin wire and there's a drop of glue for the lenses.

Sys ja paitoja - Secret friend and shirts

Minulla on ihmeen ihana salainen ystävä.

I have the most wonderful secret friend. She made me Hanna and the lion. The handcraft is just incredible here and all I can do is admire and be astonished and cry a little happy tears. Thank you so much ♥.

My net-name Hanna ja leijona, which means Hanna and the lion started when I was pregnant with Aava. I saw a dream where I played with a little lion cub under a beautiful tree and a male lion was circling us in a distance, protecting us. Ville's horoscope symbol is lion and Aava was supposed to become a lion too (she ended up being a cancer, she was born just a bit premature). After the dream I called my baby the lion and the name stuck until after the birth. It was about that time when I started to find the social networks in the internet and when I had to think of an alias, I became hannajaleijona and it stuck.

I tried to make shirts and these turned out exactly as sloppy and relaxed as the girls wanted to have. I have to brag a little... I crocheted the red trim with a 0,4 mm hook, which seemed like mission impossible a while ago. I am learning something here. ;o)

SYS - Secret friend swap

Kiitos!

I'm being spoiled by my secret friends. I received three packages today! Thank you very much, it's going to be fun guessing who you are. I've got some ideas already...

Tökkötumput - Mittens

Nukkien vaatettaminen senkun jatkuu. Ihan turhaa on minusta kieltä näyttää, täällä sentään tehdään vermettä porukoille innolla. Tein huvikseni virkatut tumput. Menettelevät, vaikka aikamoiset uunikintaathan nuo ovat. Kokeilin hameeseen yksinkertaista palmikkoneuletta. Hanskamallia voi katsoa täältä... aikamoista taituruutta, sano.

I continue making clothes for dolls. I don't see any point in making faces... I crocheted mittens. I tried a simple braid-pattern on the knitted skirt for this skinny girl. By the way, here are some gorgeous miniature gloves... I'm just saying WOW!

Sain taas postia salaiselta ystävältä. Siistiä! Aavakin sai osansa, kauniita ja herkullisia koirasuklaita. Kiitos!

I got another thing from my secret friend. Cool! Aava got her part too, beautiful and delicious doggy chocolates. Thank you!

Teetä kahdelle - Tea for two

I just have to play! The idea of the cafe is getting clearer. I guess I'll call it Tea for Two (or more and you can come alone too, but then you will not get the teapot on your table). There will be lots of different kinds of tea and some coffee too and enormous amounts of pastries. You can come and stay for the whole afternoon reading and talking and making something (like knitting the awful socks maybe...) and watch the beautiful park outside. I have now the perfect excuse to collect even more wonderful teapots, because there has to be at least as many as there are tables ;o). This photo is just hastily put together, sort of an ideapicture, the table is too small (Lundby), tablecloth is my mother's flea-market find, vases and the teapot by Joyce (Mostly Art), checkered pillows by Liisa, embroidered pillow by Larissa, pillow and rug with pictures by Lissu, cups and plates by Jaana and the donut by Happy Little Muffin.

Punainen tuoli - Red chair

Hehee, it turned out like this. I enjoy working like this when the result is a surprise. I like making wicker-things, it seems so big compared to crocheting and knitting the bloody socks. I know these could be made more delicately and tidily, but I like these just the same! The lady that owns the cafe appriciates my efforts a lot. I quit the shopping ban for now, but I promised to take it easy. This tiny teddybear just had to come live with me, from Bassom Bear. She makes also a bit bigger and equally adorable bears, bunnies and such.

SYS ja sukat - Secret friend and socks

Huh huh, urakka tuli tehdyksi, eli nuo villasukat. ;o). Drinksu tulee Everyday Gourmetista. Hameena toimii virkattu kolmiohuivi.

I finally finished the blasted socks. I also started a new chair, it looks like a spider now and it's going to be red. It's lovely to relax in the old chair with a martini and warm socks. The fabulous drink is from Everyday Gourmet. The crocheted shawl can be used as a skirt too it seems.

Ystäväkuukausi ponkaisi käyntiin ja sain aivan mielettömän aarteen salaiselta ystävältäni, kiitos! Mahtavaa lisäinnostusta virkkaamiseen. Minä osallistuin vaihtoon tänä vuonna kaksinkertaisesti, eli lähetän pieniä yllätyksiä kahdelle ihmiselle ja saan puolestani postia kahdelta salaiselta ystävältä. Jännittävää!

The secret friend swap takes the whole month of February. I received a treasure from my secret friend for crocheting. The threads are just wonderful and the hook too, interesting to try it with a wooden handle. Thank you so much!!!!

Korituoli - A chair

We had a dolls' house club evening and it was so much fun! Thanks everybody and specially Sara, who made valentine's cards with Aava. We made wicker furniture and it was so interesting that we'll continue with these the next time too. I finished my chair at home and it took surprisingly long too... just could not go to sleep before I got it made. The cushion is not made for this, so it is not fitting too well. The pillows at the front are made by Lissu.

Neulemekko - Knitted dress

Knitting socks in 1/12 scale sucks. I kind of wondered from single socks through a couple of sweater-pieces to this dress I actually finished too. I guess it's the abundance of snow we are enjoying that inspires to make woollies. Dolls are really pleased to finally get something on and some change for the life in the box. There's a crocheted shawl covering the doll's arms. They are bare pipe-cleaner now. I need to decide whether to make sleeves or felted arms for her. This is one of my favourite dolls, from Taru.
