Sipuleita kerhossa - Onions at the club meeting

Meillä oli siis nukkekotikerhon tapaaminen viime torstaina. Sain melko hienosti siivottuakin. Teimme helpolla tavalla sipuli- ja valkosipulilettejä. Intouduin muokkaamaan Katilta saamaani kaappia ja voi miten siitä tulikin juuri sopiva Pirtin keittiöön. Muhkeat sipulini roikkuvat siinä ovessa. Aika hämärää vielä näin kevätiltaisin...

  We had our dollhouse club meeting at my place last Thursday and we made onions and garlic in a very easy way. And I managed to tidy the place a bit too. I painted the cupboard I've received from Kati a long time ago and it turned out perfect for the Pirtti kitchen. I'm so pleased. It's still rather dark here in the evenings. We did have the first real Spring day today though. Thank goodness!

Tässä vielä kaappi "uutena" vihreiden maalikerrosten kanssa. Sittemmin suttasin sitä ja hioin vaaleansinistä esille hiukan. On se jännä, että aina pitää vähän kuluttaa kaikkea ennen kuin se näyttää hyvältä minun silmissäni.

  Here is the cupboard as "new" with a bunch of green layers. I smudged it a bit and distressed it to show some of the pale blue from beneath and added the flowers of course. I wonder why I need to make things look old before I like them.

Isoja keksejä

Monimutkaisia domino-tyyppisiä keksejä rakentamassa. Nämä ovat ihan liian isoja, mutta eikös tämmöisiä kämmenenkokoisia ole jätskiversiona? Luulenpa, että teehuoneen rouva tarjoaa näitä oman reseptinsä mukaan tekemällä ja täyttämällä itse.

I'm practising making oreo-type cookies. These are way too big, but isn't there ice cream filled version that is about the size of one's palm? I think these are self-made by the lady of the tea-room.

Nimetön kahvilan emäntä

Tälle nukelle on ollut tarjolla monenmoista roolia, mutta tänään asiat loksahtivat paikoilleen. Hän sai vähän villimmän tukkamallin, ikioman hameensa ja hänestä tulee kahvilan emäntä. Kasvonpiirteet tuovat mieleeni isäni äidin ja epäilen, että vähän tuohon suuntaan minunkin naamavärkkini on muuttumassa. Nuo taannoiset väripyörittelyt liittyvät tähän asiaan myös, kerroitte muuten todella mielenkiintoisia väriyhdistelmiä, kiitos niistä. Värien nimetkin ovat niin herkullisia... mutta asiaan.

Elina-tyttö sai tänään uuden mekon ja irtohihat (selästä kiinni oleva yhtenäinen hiha + selkäkappalepötkö), jotta kokopaita ei turhaan tekisi nukesta kömpelöä.

Pöydällä on Susannan (Little bits of goodness) upeaakin upeampi hiekkalinna, joka odottelee paikkaansa vielä. Pakko pitää kesätunnelmää yllä, kun ulkona on -18... Emännän käsissä on tänään Cindyltä (Snowfern) saapuneita aarteita, muffinssivuokia ja aivan hillitön karkkipussi. Siellä on sisällä pikkuruisia appelsiinikarkkeja, kukin omaan sellofaaniinsa kierrettynä ja siis semmoista mallia, jossa näkyy hedelmän poikkileikkaus. Elinan käsissä oleva upea kakku on Carolin (Blue Kitty Miniatures) tekemä.

I've been thinking of many roles for this doll, but now it all just clicked. She got a bit wilder hairstyle than the original, the skirt she likes and she is going to have a super feminine cafe. She does not have a name yet, but I like her so much. Something about her face reminds me of my father's mother and I believe my face will slowly change to that direction too. The colour combinations I asked you about a while ago have also to do with this project. Thanks for telling me about your favorites, even the names of the colours sound delicious.... but back to the point.

Emily got a new dress and false-sleeves, like a tube of sleeves with a back-piece, this way the layers of fabric do not make the doll look bulky.

On the table there's Susanna's (Little bits of goodness) amazing sand-castle. I have to keep the summer in mind, it's 0 Fahrenheit or -18 Celsius outside... The cafe mistress holds some new treasures from Cindy (Snowfern). There are some tiny cupcake casings (I love these) and a bag of candies. There are the most pretty little orange-candies individually wrapped in the bag and each has the most perfect pattern of cut orange on them. I used to love candies like these as a kid. Emily holds an amazing cake by Carol (Blue Kitty Miniatures).



Koskapa edessä on muffinssimassailu, niin pitihän tekstuureja vähän ensin tutkia. Aava pääsi kuorrutusmestariksi ja hyviä ovat.

Because I need to make tiny cupcakes for the cafe now that I have plenty of casings, I needed to study the textures. Aava loved icing them and they do taste yummy!

Ruokajuttuja - Food stuff

Minä olen loppuvuodesta käynyt sen verran miniostoksilla, että nyt on kielto päällä... Pitää aina välillä vähän taloutta turvata. Netti on aavistuksen liian helppo kauppapaikka tämmöiselle innostuvalle ihmiselle ;o). Ihania juttuja olen kyllä onnistunut haalimaan maailmalta.

I've been minishopping a tad much lately and had to ban myself from any more purchases for a while... Internet is a bit too easy place for shopping for a person like me ;o). I've received some wonderful things from around the world.


Tässä on Jocelynin (AiClay) tekemät lohisushit Joycen (Mostly Art) setin kanssa. Aivan täydellistä. Minä ajattelin vähän tekeväni itse semmoisia rullasusheja, mutta nousi rima aika korkealle näiden myötä.

Here is Jocelyn's (AiClay) sushi on Joyce's (Mostly Art) plate. Just perfect. I was thinking of making these rolled sushi myself, but we'll see. My work will look like crap next to Jocelyn's amazing miniatures, I'm afraid.


Kaivelin esille marja- ja hedelmäpiiraskokoelmani ja onhan noita. Koirateatteriin on tulossa pitsikahvila, mielellään lasihuoneeseen talon katolle. Isompikokoiset piiraat ovat Susannan taitavista käsistä, alemman tason lasijalalla on Stephanien (Petit Plat) luomus, ylemmän tason pienillä keramiikkaastioilla, jotka muuten ovat Tiinan upeita astioita ovat Jocelynin (AiClay) pikkupiiraat. Edessä on vielä Carolin (Blue Kitty) kirsikkapiirakka. On siinä ihmettelemistä minulla ja tulevaisuudessa teatterivierailla.

I digged out my collection of fruit and berry tarts and took a picture. I'm planning a cafe for the dog theatre. The larger tarts are Susanna's creations, tart on the glass pedestal is by Stephanie (Petit Plat), small tarts on Tiina's ceramic dishes are by Jocelyn (Aiclay) and the cherry-pie at the front is by Carol (Blue Kitty). Amazing pieces all around.
