Taloesittelyä III - Photos of my house part III

Yläkerrassa on makuuhuone ja keskellä olohuone. Tässä kuvia molemmista, vähän sieltä täältä.

Up below the roof is where we sleep in this house and in the middle there's the living room. Here are some photos of both.


Olohuoneen valeoven ympärillä on kirjahylly. Ovesta puuttuu vieläkin se kahva...

There's another fake door here to the stairs. The knob is still missing...


Olohuoneen etuseinällä yksi tärkeimpiä esineitä koko talossa. Aavan piirtämä kuva meidän perheestä ihan tätä taloa varten. Tuosta on jo aikaa. Hyllyllä Marjutilta saatu upeanpunainen norsu ja Taru Astikaisen hymytyttö. Roikkumassa Larissa Vannisen hopeinen kompassi. Suunnan etsimiseen tarvitaan joskus apua.

On the living room front wall hangs one of the most precious things in the house. My daughter drew our family especially for my doll's house. On the shelf fantastically red elephant Marjut gave me and a girl by Taru Astikainen. There's also a silver compass by Larissa Vanninen to give us direction when needed.




Valkoinen lipasto on Cillan tekemä, yksi suosikkihuonekaluistani. Ompelin taulun muistuttamaan tärkeästä asiasta.

The chest is by Cilla from Minst, one of my favourites. I sew the picture on the wall above it. It says "everything is going to work out" in finnish.


Miinu ja Faunius ovat kylässä Pirtissä. Faunius-talo on jo pakattu, joten herrasväki vierailee viimeiseen asti ennen pahvilaatikkoon joutumista muuttoa varten.

Miinu and Faunius are visiting from just around the corner. I emptied Faunius house, so they need to stay here for a while before the dreaded cardboard box.


Pesukomuutti on Christian Lundkvistilta, upea liina Larissalta ja maljakko kukkineen Mostly Artilta.

The wash stand is by Christian Lundkvist, the fabulous doily from Larissa and the vase and flowers from Mostly Art.


Olohuoneen pöydällä on toinen vaasi Mostly Artilta.

On the coffee table there's another vase by Mostly Art.


Tytöt ovat leikkimässä makuuhuoneessa.

Girls are playing in the bedroom.


Täällä on toinen muistutus mielenrauhan takaamiseksi, tämäkin ommeltu omin harakanvarpain. Veikeä nukke on Sirkka Lehtovuoren upeasti tuunaama Heidi Ottin pikkuenkeli.

Here's another reminder for the peace of mind "everything is all right", this one too sewn with my own messy handwriting. The doll is originally a Heidi Ott cupid, skillfully redone by Sirkka Lehtovuori.

The girls can make a mess in the mini world too. The dolls are by Taru Astikainen.


Aikuisetkin saavat sotkua aikaan esimerkiksi keräämällä kaikenlaista vanhaa romua nurkkiin...;o) Tuota silityslautaa ei kyllä käytetä juuri muuhun kuin laskutilaksi. Uskomattoman hento virkattu vauvanpeitto Nasulta. Kori taas on Ansu Soikalta.

Grown-ups make a mess too for example by collecting all kinds of old junk... ;o) The ironing board is mainly used for storage in this house. The tiny baby quilt is by Nasu. The basket is by Ansu Soikka.

Todella moni tekijä on jäänyt mainitsematta. Minä pidän siitä, että talossani on mahdollisimman monen tekijän töitä, joista satun tykkäämään. Joidenkin merkitys on esineen tuomassa mielleyhtymässä, joidenkin tekijässä, joidenkin tunnelmassa tai värissä tai jossakin muussa ominaisuudessa. Täällä on sekaisin arvokasta ja halpaa, roskasta tehtyä ja huippukäsityötä, ostettua, saatua ja itse tehtyä. Tänään täällä näyttää tälläiseltä ja myöhemmin sitten taas erilaiselta.

I have not mentioned many many makers that have contributed. I like having things in the house from all around. Some things have value because of the idea or thought they evoke in me, some because of the maker and their significance to me, some because of what they bring to the atmosphere, some because of the colour or other quality. Here you can find valuable and cheap, things made of trash and authentic materials, quality miniature art and found objects, things that are bought, received as gifts or trades and things I've made myself. Today the house looks like this and then it might be very different later on.

Taloesittelyä II - Photos of my house part II

Alakerrassa sijaitsee keittiö ja pieni kylpyhuone eteisen jatkona. Tänä aamuna valo ei riittänyt kylpyhuoneeseen asti, joten tässä keittiön näkymiä.

The house has three floors. When you enter, you'll find a small hallway and bathroom and the kitchen. This morning the light did not reach the bathroom, so here is what you'll see in the kitchen.


Seinältä löytyy sama juliste kuin meiltä isossa koossakin. Tämä on A-M:n maalaama ja hänen Etsy-kauppansa on nimeltään Little Time Wasters. Kalavaaka on Kensington Dollhouse Festivalilta edelliskeväältä. Tapetti on ihmisseinille tarkoitettua. Helsingin kalliossa, Fleminginkadulla on myymälä, jossa myydään näitä vanhoja malleja.

We have a Chat Noir poster in our real home too. This is painted by A-M and her Etsy-shop is called Little Time Wasters. The fish-scale is from Kensington Dollhouse Festival last spring. The wallpaper is real size sample of old Finnish design as in all the rooms of this house.


Jääkaapin vierellä odottaa kaksi kippoa Otso-kissan pienoismallia syömään. Astiat ovat Wooperin käsialaa. Lehtikorin punoin kauan sitten.

There are two dishes by the fridge waiting for the miniature of our cat, Otso. The dishes are by Wooper. I made a basket for the papers long time ago.


Seiniltä puuttuu edelleen paljon hyllyjä ja kaappeja ja muuta tarpeellista, mutta kyllä tuo melkein mökkikeittiöstä jo menisi.

There is going to be a lot more shelves and stuff, but it is ok for a basic kitchen already. Like in the summer cottage or so.

There is a fake door to the stairs on the backwall. On a shelf above the door there is a coffee grinder by Christian Lundkvist, a dish by Taru Astikainen, a vase by Mostly Art and cookie and cocoa boxes.


Lavuaari on Reutterilta, upea kannu Mostly Artilta ja mahtava porkkanaessu joulukalenteriswapista Nannalta.

The sink is by Reutter, the magnificent pitcher by Mostly Art and the carrot apron from Nanna at our christmas calendar swap last year.


Keittiön ikkunalaudalla kukoistaa Katin kukkia. Minä olen aivan hulluna näihin. Omat tekeleet ovat aivan säälittäviä näiden rinnalla. (Kukkien tekeminen on silti tosi kivaa ja ihania ne omatkin ovat, tavallaan...)

There are geraniums and hibiscus by Kati at the kitchen windowsill. I'm nuts about Kati's flowers. My own plants look so sad next to these beauties. (But I still enjoy making flowers.)

Taloesittelyä I - Photos of my house part I

Tervetuloa Pirttiin. Otin kuvia talosta ja kokosin vähän kukkia pihalle kuvattavaksi artikkelia varten. Laitan ylimääräkuvia esille blogiin ihan jo senkin vuoksi, että meillä on muutto edessa syssymmällä ja kaikki pikkutavaratkin joutuvat laatikoihin pikkuhiljaa.

Welcome to my dollhouse. I took some photos of the house and some flowers outside it for an article. I'll post the extra photos here to have something to look at if I'll miss the house. We are moving sometime in the near future and I'll pack the small things first.

Markkinahuumaa - The fair was fun!

Kerrankin muistin ottaa pöydästäni kuvan, ennen kuin markkinarytinä alkoi toden teolla. Tälläisellä kattauksella mentiin tällä kertaan.

First time ever I remembered to take a photo of my table, before the chaos began. These were my offerings this time.


Valmisteluiden painotus meni niin, että kaikki energia meni huovuttamiseen. Minulla ei ollut minkään sortin kortteja mukana eikä edes nimeä pöydässä, vähän noloa. Toisaalta rajallisella satsauksella tämä järjestys on paras.

I prepared for the fair by just felting this time. I did not have business cards or any kind of name plaque, which is kind of embarassing. Well, having limited time and energy I think it's best to make stuff...


Toin Aavalle Taru Astikaisen valmistamia upeita nukkeja tytön omaan nukkekotiin. Kasasin kaksi kaunotarta oikealta saman tien. Herrahenkilöä Aava ei taloonsa kaivannut, joten hän sai yhden minun neideistäni kolmanneksi. Muodonmuutos on melkoinen. Aava sai itse suunnitella tukkamallin jokaiselle ja villejä tuli... ;o)

I gave Aava beautiful dolls by Taru Astikainen. I bought only the parts and put the two girls on the right together as soon as I got home. Aava did not wish to have a man in her house, so I gave her a previously purchased miss on the left from my own collection. The make-overs are rather radical. I let Aava decide everything about their hairstyles and the results are wild, I'd say...


Tämän verran ostoksia huomasin itse tehneeni... Oli aivan mahtavat markkinat, talo täynnä upeita juttuja ja paljon uusia myyjiä. Kerron näistä vähän tarkemmin joskus toiste. Kiitos kaikille järjestäjille, myyjille ja markkinaväelle hauskasta päivästä. Forssassa sitten kuukauden kuluttua uusiksi.

This modest pile is my shopping and some trades... The fair was just great, the house was filled with fantastic things and many many new sellers and visitors. I'll tell more about my loot later on. Thank you all organizers, sellers and visitors, it was a fun day. We'll meet at Forssa at the end of July.

My little pony

Hihii, minä tein poneja. Ruoho on vaan vähän pitkää tuolla ulkona ja kuvaus on yläviistosta, näyttävät normaaliakin lyhytjalkaisemmilta ja kaviot jäävät piiloon. Ihhahhaa.

I made two ponies. The grass is a bit long for them and I had to take the photo from above, so they look even more short-legged than they really are. They have polymer clay hoofs too.

Karhuperhe - Three bears

Karhuperheestä tuli vähän sarjakuvamainen. Tuo pikkukarhu on minusta hellyttävän jörö.

The bear family turned out a bit cartoon-like. I like the little bear. He is sulking for some reason.

Koiria Lahteen - Dogs for the Lahti fair

Yritän kuvailla näitä valmistuneita karvakuonoja. Tässä vähän vielä pörröisiä koiruuksia.

I'm trying to show the new things a little. These dogs need to get the long stray hairs cut before the fair still.

Markkinoille - Preparing for the Lahti fair

Huovuttelen hiljalleen myytävää Lahden markkinoille ensi lauantaiksi. Mahtavaa taas tavata nukkekotikavereita, tutustua uusiin ihmisiin ja hötkyillä markkinahuumassa.

I'm felting things for the Lahti fair next saturday. It's wonderful to meet friends, get to know new people and enjoy the rush of the fair day.
