Ekan päivän löydöt

Ihanaa tavata tuttuja ja nähdä mitä ihanuuksia kaikki ovat tehneet. Kauppa kävi oikein mukavasti ja loppupäivästä oli niin hiljaista, että sorruin osteluun, vaikkakin aika maltillisesti. Joskushan on mennyt suunnilleen koko ansio sen siliän tien ja riemulla... ;o) Lisään myöhemmin keneltä mikäkin on... nyt ei jaksa. Jäi unet edellisyönä vähän vähälle.

It's wonderful to meet friends and see the lovely things everybody has made. I did sell quite nicely and since it was really quiet at the end of the show, I did make some purchases. Not too much, sometimes I've used practically everything I've made and some more... with great pleasure I must add ;o). I'll add who made what later on, I'm way too tired now, sorry.


Meillä oli vähän aikaa askaroida Aavan kanssa illalla ja teimme lisää myytävää. Aava tulee huomenna mukaan ja halusi tehdä jotain. En meinaa hennoa myydä näitä pois, tekee mieli ostaa kaikki itse... Niin, minä tein nyrpeitä rouvia.

We had a little time to make things together with Aava this evening. She is coming along tomorrow and wanted to make something she can sell too. I'm not sure if it is going to happen, I just might keep these to myself.. I made gloomy girls.

Tampereelle

Huomenna alkavat Tampereen markkinat ja vielä on tarkoitus huovutella elukka jos toinenkin. Aika vähän tulee pöytään täytettä tällä kertaa, mutta muutama ötökkä kuitenkin. Tyhjennän myös nukkislehtivarastoani ja muuta itselle tarpeetonta maailmalta haalittua ihanuutta... Etsyä ajattelin myös vähän esitellä pöytäni äärellä. Virkattu torkkupeitto on juuri Etsystä, Willow's Creationsin Friedalta. Se ei kylläkään ole myynnissä ;o).

Tomorrow begins Tampere handcraft fair that has a whole section for dolls, bears and miniatures. I have very little to show this time, but some felted things, old miniature magazines and things I've collected but noticed that I actually do not need. I also thought of telling about Etsy and Team Mids there. My shop will be closed for a couple of days for the fair, but open again next week. The crocheted afghan (not for sale) on the coutch is from Etsy, Willow's Creations. Frieda makes the most amazing afghans and does commissions too.

Tajutonta!... kiitos, rakas ystävä

Eilen tuli postista vielä salaisen ystävän lähetys, joka on kyllä semmoinen taideteos, että meni nahka kananlihalle. Sanat eivät riitä. Tämä muotokuva on valtavan voimaannuttava. Se on upea. Minä näytän onnelliselta ja vahvalta ja kauniilta ja ihan juuri itseltäni kuitenkin. Puku on ihana, leijona on ihana, asento ja asetelma on ihana, tausta on ihana. Tälläiset ystävät on rakennettu ihan erikseen jossain taivaissa ja heitetty tänne meidän tavallisten kuolevaisten sekaan tallustelemaan. Uskomatonta! Voi sitä taidon ja anteliaisuuden määrää... kuva ei tee oikeutta aarteelle, jonka sain.

Huom. Kyseessä on siis nukkekotiin sopiva maalaus.

I received another thing from my secret friend yesterday and I'm telling you this artwork gave me goosebumbs. The words are not enough here. This portrait makes me feel good about myself. It's gorgeous. I look happy and strong and beautiful and still exactly like me. I love the dress, I love the lion, I love the composition and my posture and the background. Friends like these are made in some heaven and put to earth to travel among us mere mortals. Unbelievable! I cannot believe the skills it takes to paint like this and the generosity to give a gift like this.

Oh, and yes, this is 1/12 scale painting.

Hassu hatuntekijä - Mad hatter

Lavastin neitejä erikoisiin teekesteihin Tim Burtonin Liisa Ihmemaassa -leffan kunniaksi. Kohta se tulee. Tarjoilut on vaan vähän jääneet lapsipuolen asemaan näillä kekkereillä. Muffinssit on kuorruttamatta (vuoat Snowfernin Cindyltä) ja mistä tuo pupu tuli teekuppiin? Vaaleanpunainen harsohattu on Päivin tekemä, muut hatut minun askaroimiani.

I set the ladies for a weird teaparty to celebrate Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland that soon has it's premiere. This party has the hats, but not much to enjoy otherwise. No frosting on the cupcakes (casings by Snowfern) yet and why is there a bunny-toy in the tea-cup? The pink hat with the veil is by a club-buddy Päivi, other hats I've made.

Uusi tukka - New hair

Tämä neito sai uuden peruukin ja ne irtoripset Tarun tapaan riikinkukon sulan sivuhöydöistä, joista olenkin jo ehtinyt haaveilla. Pinnin tein helmihatusta ja rautalangasta, se on toki poistettavissa. Minkään järkevän tekeminen tuntuu täysin mahdottomalta. Joskus näin.

This doll received a new wig and the falsies Taru taught how to make from peacock feathers. The hairclip is cut and bended from a beadcap and a length of wire, it is removable, of course. A girl has to be able to change her hair... I don't seem to be able to do anything sensible. It is like this sometimes.

Kokosin myös teehuoneeseen tulevaa tavaraa omaan laatikkoonsa, jotta kaaos pöydällä ja hyllyllä tulisi vähän hallittavammaksi. Koreaa ja kukertavaa piisaa...

I also collected things for the tea-house and put it in a box for now to clear some of the chaos on my desk and shelf. I'm going to miss seeing the teapots all the time...

Upeita löytöjä - Amazing finds

Esittelenpä samalla kertaa kaksi mahtilöytöä, joihin olen haksahtanut. Tuo puunoksa lintuineen on puusta käsin veistetty ja maalattu!!!!! Minä en saata ymmärtää tuollaista taitoa. Dugarbrookin herra tekee vähän isompiakin lintuja, mutta myös näitä pikkuriikkisiä ja kaloja kans. Nämä talitiaiset ovat Fauniuksen huomassa.

I'll show you two wonderful things I've found and purchased. The branch with the birds is hand-carved and -painted!!! I cannot understand the skills required to make this. The gentleman from Dugarbrook makes many kinds of birds and fish in 1/12th scale and also a bit bigger and the whole size things too, I believe. These tits live at Faunius.


Herra Rex taasen oli aivan ilahduttava löytö täältä. Kyseessä on koottava jutska... laserleikattu arkki, josta osat saa irrotettua suhteellisen helposti ja selkeät hyvät ohjeet, joiden avulla rauhallinen ja kärsivällinen ihminen saa tehtyä hienon luurangon, mutta pinsetit ovat kovasti tarpeen kokoamishommassa. Tälläinen vähemmän kärsivällinen saa kyllä vähän virheellisen version kasaan ja hukkaa kesken matkan yhdet kylkiluut (jotka löytyivät kuin ihmeen kautta! Minun lattialtani!)... Alemmassa kuvassa kaunokainen vähän lähempää.

I found Mr Rex from Kelly Farrell. This is a laser-cut sheet ready to be put together. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow and with help of tweezers any patient person can make a perfect little tinysaur (I love the name). The not so patient persons like me will drop a set of ribs (found it miraculously) and get one of the vertebrae all wrong (glued it tightly, but I don't mind, my Rex has some personality, you see...) and curse a bit while making the small beauty. I think it is wonderful anyway.
