Kevättä ja kokoelmakuvia - Spring and photos of my collection

Ensimmäiset sinivuokot! Nyt jo! Äsken vasta oli metrinen lumikerros ja joka puolella koirankakkaa ja vettyneitä roskia. Annoin Aavan poimia yhden kukan ja hän halusi sen nukkekotinsa keittiön pöydälle joka on tupaten täynnä tavaraa. Vaasi on lahja Mostly Artin Joycelta Aavalle, joka tykkää kovasti vaaleanpunaisesta. Tosin värimaku vaihtelee jyrkästi ja taajaan... tytön oman huoneen seinät ovat kuulemma aivan oksettavat, koska niissä on vihreää. Hän rakasti pienempänä vihreää. Pysy tässä sitten perässä.

The first spring flowers! Already! There was snow to one's thigh just a moment ago and then melting snow with rubbish and dog poo everywhere. I let Aava pick one flower and she wanted to place it on her dollhouse kitchen table. The vase is a gift from Joyce (Mostly Art) to Aava, who loves pink. Actually her colour taste is changing fast and drastically. She used to love green but now it's just awful and so are the walls of her room, combining pink and light green. Whoah!


Otin kuvia kokoelmastani jokin aika sitten ja laitan tähänkin muutaman esille. Nämä kaikki ihanuudet ovat siis Mostly Artilta pikkuhiljaa kerättyjä. Käsittämättömän kauniita!

I took some photos of my collection a while ago and thought of putting some of them here too. All of these beauties are from Mostly Art, collected little by little. I can't get enough of these. Perfection!


Minä olen onnen tyttö. On upeaa löytää jotain, joka puhuttelee. Minua puhuttelevat nämä pienet taideteokset. Odotan jännityksellä mihin suuntaan luomisen virta vie ja millaisia uudet työt ovat. Vaikka Joyce tekee varsin monipuolisesti erityylisiä esineitä, niissä tuntuu silti aina olevan vahva läsnäolo. En minä sitä muutenkaan osaa selittää. Joku näkee kauneutta ihan muualla, minä näissä. I'm a lucky girl. It's wonderful to find something that really speaks to you and these little pieces of art sure touch me. It's a thrill to wait and see in which direction creativity takes Joyce and her work. Even though her style is versatile and repertoire large and always evolving, there's always strong presence in these. I cannot explain it. Someone else sees beauty somewhere else, but I see true beauty in these. You can find more photos of her work here.

Iloa ja surua - Joy and sadness

Meillä on vähän suruaika menossa, kun meidän rakas lemmikkimme Otso-kissa jouduttiin lopettamaan männäviikolla. Yritin maalata muotokuvaa hurmaavasta kissaherrasta, mutta ei siitä oikein näköistä tullut. Tuollainen hymyileväinen Otso kyllä oli. Tykkäsi kovasti ruuasta ja meistä. Ihana kissa.

Sohva majaili tovin jos toisenkin tullissa odottamassa, mutta tänään nappasin pyörän käyttöön ja porhalsin hakemaan sen kotiin. Aivan hieno! Suunnittelen itsekin tekeväni topattuja tuoleja ja sohvia lähitulevaisuudessa, mutta tämä oli niin sopiva teehuoneelle, että pyysin saada ostaa sen Jodyltä. Tämä oli proto, mutta minulle ja teehuoneen rouvalle oikein mieluisa.

It's a bit sad here now. Our beloved cat Otso had to be put to sleep last week. I tried to paint a portrait of him, but there's not much of a resemblance. He was a smiling cat like that, gentle and smart. Loved food. Loved us. Perfect little boy he was.

The lovely couch is made by Jody. It spent quite a while at the customs, but today I took my bike and rode there in the spring sunshine and it was fun. I'm going to try to make upholstered chairs myself too, but this one was just perfect to both me and the lady of the teahouse. This was sort of a prototype, but Jody agreed to sell it to me, so thank you very much! There are some other sofas at Jody's Etsy shop.

Entrance with some accessories. The wall I painted with granite paint, shoes by Lotte, bag by Cilla, vase by Larissa and the painting by Heleena. On the floor there's my daughter's design for the rug.

Nettipaasto - I'm off-line

Meillä on netti poikki todennäköisesti kaksi viikkoa vielä. Aikamoista sähellystä. Yritämme vaihtaa palveluntarjoajaa eikä se tunnu olevan ollenkaan yksinkertainen prosessi...

I'm off-line for about two weeks. We are changing the company and it seems to be an awfully complicated procedure...

Lankoja - Yarn, thread, string

Minä olen ihan hassuna lankoihin, ohuisiin, paksuihin, villaisiin, silkkisiin, pellavaan ja puuvillaan, kaikki käy. Narut ja nyörit ovat kiintoisia myös, paperinarua unohtamatta. Minivirkkausopiskelu jatkuu ja tässä Doloresista löydetystä Venne Colcotonin pätkävärjätystä langasta tumput ja lippis. Tallinnassa oli myös lankahamstraajan taivas, vaikka varsinaisia minilankoja en siellä tutkinutkaan.

I'm nuts about yarn, thin, thick, wool, silk, cotton, linen, anything goes. Also strings and cords are fascinating. I'm continuing to learn to crochet and knit in miniature. Here are mittens and a cap made of Venne Colcoton thread found at Dolores. Tallinn had a lot to offer for yarn-lover even though this time I did not think so much of miniatures.

Toisen päivän löytöjä

Tässä toisen päivän ihanuuksia vähän sekalaisessa asetelmassa. Me käväisimme tässä välissä hiihtolomareissulla etelänaapurissa ja voi että oli hienoja taloja siellä! Laitan muitakin Tampereen markkinakuvia viikonloppuna, kunhan vähän ensin käyn töissä. Ärsyttävää on tulla kotiin, kaikkea pitäis ja huvittais vaan olla. Onneksi on kehräävä kissa.

Here are some things I found at Tampere fair on day two. We visited Tallinn, Estonia and came home today. Tallinn is filled with the most beautiful houses. It's somehow really annoying to come home from a trip. There's so much to do and all I want to do is rest. Luckily there's a purring cat to ease the nerves ;o). I'll post more about Tampere later on.
