Pari mallailukuvaa - Couple of wip-photos

Tätä projektia on kyllä vaikea päästää käsistä, mutta nyt tulee parin päivän paussi.

It's difficult, but I have to say goodbye to the project for a couple of days.

Hyttityyliä - Bunk bed

Ehdin sittenkin vähän rakentaa myös tänään. Punkat odottavat valmiina nukkujia. Ajattelin ensin tehdä alimmaiseen sellaiset kiinteät laatikot alle, mutta ehkä irtolaatikot ja nyssäkät sopivat paremmin tyyliin.

I managed to build just a little today too. The bunk beds are ready to dress. At first I thought I'd make storage drawers below the lower bed, but was drawn to all kinds of loose crates, boxes and bundles.

Tästä olen tosi ylpeä. Ylemmän sängyn saa seinää vasten, aivan kuin laivalla. Tässä ovat ihka ensimmäiset oikeasti onnistuneet saranat, jotka olen asentanut. Veistin niille kolot ja kaikki.

I'm so proud that I managed to hinge the upper bed, just like on boats. This is the first time I kind of succeeded with hinges. I even carved the slots for them and all. Yay!

(Onnistuminen minun tapauksessani tarkoittaa toimivuutta. Ei kannata katsoa kauhean läheltä...)

(Success means functionality in this case. I would not call my hinges pretty...)

Kolme seinää pystyssä - I've got three walls!

Oi miten tämä onkaan kivaa! Olen ollut aika ahkerana tänään, mutta nyt tulee taukoa töihin.

This is so much fun! I've been happy working today, as you can see.

Ovesta tuli kapea, koska tuo terassin tapainenkin on kovin kapea. Kalusteet ovat vain malliksi.

The door is quite narrow, because the deck is narrow too. 

Mietiskelen vielä, tekisinkö kerrossängyt. Ehkä.

I'll probably make bunk beds in this corner.

En ole vielä päättänyt tuleeko tänne vesi, mutta lavuaari on joka tapauksessa oltava. Laatat olen paistanut itse mökillä. Tänne ne sopivat just passelisti. Ylös tulee ehkä tapettia.

I don't know if there's going to be running water, but the sink is essential. The tiles I've made myself and love them here. I'll probably paper the top of the wall.

Pöytä voisi hyvin olla tämä kaunotar ja ikkunan alle tulee kiinteä penkki. Kaksi tuolia mahtuu ihan kivasti. Jee, pelkäsin, että jäisi aika ahtaaksi.

I'll build a bench under the window. I'm glad there's room for a table and two chairs too.

Koko sisätila on tässä. Arvatkaa vaan onko siistiä kun noihin koloihin voi asetella yhtä ja toista.

This is the whole of the interior. I love the nooks on the walls. It will be so much fun to put a thing here and another there.

Rantaelämää - Beach Life

Minä teen uutta taloa, mutta pikkuista välityötä vain. Semmoista viikossa pystyyn-projektia. Tämä on aivan superihanaa. Just eilen puhuttiin siitä uppoutumisen lumosta. No nyt on täälläkin upottavaa. Joku saisi vaan varustaa taloutta, kun ei millään malttaisi mitään kaupassakäyntiä ja semmoista.

I'm making a new house, but a small one. One that you can build in a week. I love this. I talked just yesterday with friends about the flow when you're really into something. I just wish someone would bring me groceries and such and I could just sink deeper and deeper into this.

Ehkä tämän kesän vähän edellisiä vilpsakammat säät ovat houkutelleet tämän jo vanhan ajatuksen esiin. Ajatella miten ihana olisi pieni maja rannalla, voisi laskeutua ovesta suoraan hiekalle ja juosta muutamalla askelella mereen. Voisi kerätä simpukankuoria ja grillata kalaa siinä pihalla. 

We've had a cool summer compared to the two before this one. Maybe that has surfaced this old idea. How wonderful it would be, a small shack on the beach. You could step down to the sand and run to the sea. You could pick shells and barbeque fish just outside. Bliss.

Moni on tehnyt ihan vastaavia ja taitaa jollain valmistajallakin olla pikkuinen rantamökki valikoimassaan, mutta minä teen nyt sillä mitä varastoista löytyy ja ilman varsinaista suunnitelmaan. Tai no, pari suttua kyllä piirsin ennen kuin aloin.

There are some fantastic beach cottages that people have made in miniature and I think there is a kit for a thing like this there, but I'm making mine with what I find here and without a strict plan. I scribbled a couple of drawings before I started though.

Pyykkipojat ovat toimineet puristimina vähän joka välissä. Lattialankkuina toimivat Bilteman sytykkeet ja tolppina harjanvarresta sahatut palat. Seinämateriaalin löysin Hämeenlinnan askartelukaupan poistokorista joskus aikoja sitten. Tuohon alle tulee tietysti sitä hiekkaa sitten myöhemmin. Siksi siinä ekassa vaihekuvassa on ne reunat.

I use pegs to keep stuff together. There's going to be sand under the house later on. That's why there's the frame in the first photo of the progress.

Pakko on joka välissä vähän mallailla ja leikkiä. Tuosta näkyy kaiketi aika hienoja auringonlaskuja... Kankaan kohdalle tulee iso ikkuna aukeavaan oviseinään ja toinen ikkuna on siinä tuolin vieressä.

I cannot resist playing a litte now and then. I guess the sunsets are nice from there... There's going to be a big window where the fabric hangs now on the opening wall and the other window is there by the chair, if you can imagine. 

Ai niin, vielä päivän vinkki:

Korunosajutuista, kuten tämmöisestä suorasta lusikasta tulee kivempi, kun sen taivuttaa oikean lusikan tapaan. Näin se istuu nuken käteenkin paremmin. (Mulla oli näitä Forssassa, niin siksi tämä.)

The jewellery part spoons and such look much better if you bend them like a real spoon. You can fit it to your dolls hand much better like this too.

Vierailulla Heleenalla - Visiting at Heleena's

Minun nukkeni pääsivät pienelle vierailulle keräämään inspiraatiota Heleenan nukkekodeista. Teehuoneen rouva varsinkin oli tyytyväinen päivään. Hän ei kuulemma pääse koskaan mihinkään. Samalla tuli puvustettua hänet vähän kesäisempään asuun, joka tietysti myös piristi rouvan päivää. Pikkukartanon keittiö ja kotoisat yksityiskohdat tekivät suuren vaikutuksen.

My dolls were allowed to visit Heleena's amazing doll houses to get inspired. The teahouse lady especially was thrilled as she claims she never gets to go anywhere. The summery frock made a bunch of difference too. She just loved the kitchen and homely atmosphere in the little mansion.

Toisaalla hyvin meille kotiutunut kuvataiteilija tutustui Heleenelundiin sirkustaiteilijan kanssa. Inspiraation vallassa esiliinakin jäi päälle, mutta he eivät onneksi juuri häirinneet asukkaita kierroksellaan. Ihastelun kohteina olivat vaaleat pinnat, valoisuus ja käsityötaitoa huokuvat yksityiskohdat.

The painter took the circus artist with her to see Heleenelund. They admired the light everywhere and impeccable handcraftship of the details here.

Tuleva iso kartano vaikutti upealta ja melkein pelottavan laajalta urakalta. Ihastuimme molemmat marmorilaattoihin aivan kauheasti teehuoneen juhlavassa portaikossa. Mahtava, mahtava talo tulossa.

The new project, a vast mansion, looked grand and glorious and quite intimidating. We both loved the real marble they are going to use on the floor here. This is going to be a fantastic house!

Ikävä kyllä puhelimen kameralla saa vähän tunkkaisia kuvia, mutta ai että miten hienoja taloja!

Unfortunately the camera on my phone is not particularly very good, but the houses are gorgeous!

Markkinakuulumisia - From the fair

Olikin muuten ihan järkyttävän hyvät markkinat. Oli ihanaa tavata ihmisiä ja osaa vielä niin pitkästä aikaa. Upeita juttuja olivat taiturit tehneet. Minä jouduin pitämään erittäin tiukkaa budjettia, mutta jotain sentään lähti kotiin mukaan.

The fair was so much fun! It was lovely to meet people, some of whom I had not seen for ages and ages. The quality of the work people had made was amazing! I had to keep a really tight budget, but managed to bring a couple of things home.

Ihana. Aivan ihana. Tarun nukke lähti mukaan, vaikka ei ollenkaan pitänyt ja olen niiiiin tyytyväinen. Hän on vielä vähän kummissaan paikan vaihdoksesta, mutta alkaa asettua.

I love my new doll from Taru at Primadoll. She is so beautiful. She is still a bit overwhelmed by the change of scenery, but she is getting to know the area and folks just fine.

Tämä voisi olla yhden uuden projektin lähtökohtakuva. Tästä lisää joskus toiste. Tyynyt ja laatikot Susannalta (Susannan Etsy-kauppa) ja upea kangas Tarulta.

This is almost like a moodboard for a future project. The pillow and boxes from Susanna at Little bits of goodness (her blog) and the gorgeous fabric from Taru.

Ilokseni huomasin, että Kristian Lundqvistilta on tullut uusi tuolimalli. Tosi hieno ja jämäkkä. Uusi iso vitriinikaappi jäi kummittelemaan mieleen. Joku toinen kerta sitten. Tykkään näistä ihan sikana ja väri on ihan täydellinen. Tyynyt Suskilta sekä rappu, kannu, peitto ja porras Tarulta.

There's a new style of chair from Kristian Lundqvist in just the perfect colour. The pillows are from Susanna and the rest is from Taru.

Mutta entäs sitten se kirja! Oijoijoijoijoijoi! Maria on tehnyt aivan mielettömän suuren työn ja kirja on todella kaunis. Toistaiseksi olen vain katsellut kuvia ja ohjeita, mutta tänään pääsen lukemaankin tätä. Kiitos Maria! Ihana, ihana juttu.

Maria Malmström has made a dollhouse book filled with gorgeous photos of her house Väinölä and fantastic tutorials. The book is in Finnish, but I think there's lots and lots of inspiration and information to be found from the pictures too. This is such a wonderful thing!

Päitä ja torsoja - Heads and torsos

Tein muutaman pään vähän hurjempaa sisustusta ajatellen.

I made a couple of heads for the more exotic interior.

It's difficult to decide the colour of the mannequin's stand.
