Puuhommissa muun muassa - Woodworking too

Pääsin viikonloppuna vähän sahailemaan Heleenan kuviosahalla. Ai että oli kivaa ja tämmöiset kaiteet tuli rantamajan kuistille. Vihdoin sain myös sahattua taustan herra hirvelle, joka pääsee matkaan. Oli jännä, miten siitä tuli heti vähemmän elävä puuplakaatin kanssa. Uusi paitakin tuolla on, harjoitin neulomista taas hiukan ohuemmalla silkkilangalla. Matkaa on kyllä vielä Finiribbonin silkkilankaan, jolla virkkaan kyllä ihan mielelläni.

I could use my friend Heleena's saw during the weekend and made the fence for the beach house porch. It was a lot of fun. I also made the plaque for the trophy and the elk is finally on it's way to the new home. I also knitted the sweater with a bit thinner silk thread. I'm slowly progressing towards the thread I use for crocheting, the vintage thread from Finiribbon at Etsy.

Tämmöinen koiruus on myös valmistunut.

Piti ottaa kuva Mollyn hihoista, mutta tästä tulikin oikea muotikuvaussessio, vähän tämmöinen vanhanaikainen. Ei ole kulmia ja tylyä otetta näissä poseerauksissa. :o)

I wanted to take a picture of Molly's sleeves, but it turned out a kind of fashion shoot, a bit old-fashioned one. No angled poses and sharp looks here. :o)

Alkaa olla päivälläkin niin hämärää, ettei tule minun tekniikalla skarppia jälkeä, mutta ei se haittaa.

It's getting dark in the daytime too, so the photos get a bit blurred too, but I don't mind.

Tämmöinen kakkos-Aavakin on, siirtyi minulle oikean Aavan leikeistä ja tälle nukelle tuli Aavan nykyinen  tukka entisen pitkän mustan leiskan sijaan.

I have a second Aava doll too and she got the look Aava is having at the moment. The doll had a long, black hair before this when Aava was playing with her.

No nyt on kuulkaa koirankasvattamooni tullut korkea-arvoinen pyyntö. Villa Amaren emäntä kaipasi lapsuutensa lemmikkiä ja kuten aina, jos rouvalla on toiveita, niin herra toimii. Tämä puuterihuisku lähtee uuteen kotiinsa, kunhan tokenee kaikesta pöyhötyksestä.

I received an invitation from Villa Amare to relief the longing of the mistress of the house for her childhood pet. The master always follows the lady's wishes. This powder puff will go to her new homw as soon as she's recovered from all the puffing and pruning.

Tänne meillekin saapui upea lähetys Tarulta. Minä katselin Mollya tovin ja totesin, että kiharaa on oltava. Täällä on cocktailtikku rullaillut ja nyt on aika upea tukka. Kuva tosin ei ole paras mahdollinen.

I received a precious shipment too from Taru. I watched Molly for a while and saw that she needed curls. There's been a lot of cocktail stick rolling going on and I like it very much now. The photo is not very good though.

Kohti Tukholmaa - For Miniatyrmässan in Stockholm

I'm attending Miniatyrmässan in Stockholm at the end of October and here are some cats I've made.

Vähän tämmöistä isompaa porukkaa on myös tekeillä. Ovat vielä varsin ilmeettömiä, mutta en voinut vastustaa kiusausta katsoa ruudulta, mitä sanovat...

These are very much unfinished work, but I could not resist seeing these on the screen. I like to make things bigger sometimes.

Tuli saalista - We've got a catch

Pystykorva haukkui sen verran reilusti, että se lähetettiin omaan kotiinsa, mutta peijaisiakin päästiin viettämään. Nukkekoti Kurjenpolveen neideille tiedoksi, että trofeeta valmistellaan viimein. Olisko aika pieni soikea tumma puulevy mieluisa alusta tälle?

We've got a catch and I'm pleased to inform the misses at dolls' house Kurjenpolvi that we're finally working on their trophy. Maybe we'll mount it on dark wood?

Valmiina jahtiin - Ready for the hunt

En kyllä tiedä käytetäänkö suomenpystykorvia hirvimetsällä, mutta siellä nyt ollaan, passissa. 

I'm not sure if it is the right breed for the job, but we're hunting for elk...

Tauluja tulossa - I'll be framing a long long time

Näin Saaran blogissa älyttömän hauskoja tulitikkuetikettikuvia ja vot, seuraavalla kirpparivierailulla vastaan tuli niitä iso pussi. Olen näihin aivan hullaantunut. Kahvilaan (eli teetupaan) sopivia kuvia on ruuhkaksi asti ja kehystinkin jo pari koemallia. Näitä ajattelin kehystellä myös muille, joten listasakset napsumaan vaan.

I saw wonderful pictures from old matchboxes at Saara's blog and boom! the next time I visited a flea market I found a big bag. I love these. I found many suitable for the teahouse walls (many about coffee though) and decided to frame these for others too. Maybe I'll list some in my Etsy-shop too, even though these are mainly in finnish.
